Maintaining your hot water cylinders
Hot water cylinders or Unvented hot water cylinders suffer from wear and tear. Here are some of the most common issues:
Hot water cylinder thermostat problems – This can result in no hot water, cold water or water discharging out of the tundish.
Unvented hot water cylinder problems – Unvented cylinders have more components than gravity cylinders. Combination valves, expansion vessels, pressure relief valves and immersions can all leak and fail.
- Immersion heater thermostats tripping – Quite commonly, the whole immersion needs to be changed, although they can be reset and the thermostats changed quite easily if performed safely.
Leaking hot water cylinders – unfortunately, they do not last forever but can be repaired.
